Linear High Bays Installed in Cold Storage Warehouse—Amazing Before and After Images
Our customer needed a light that would provide 150-200 lux between storage racks 30 feet high and 11 feet wide in a -4°F cold storage warehouse with a 32-foot ceiling.
As you can see in the after photo, the high bays were hung below the fluorescent fixtures via cables. The fluorescent fixtures did not even need to be removed for the installation of the LEDs, saving the cost of fixture removal and disposal.
Also notable is how each of the new 90W linear high bays provide more light than 3 fluorescent fixtures – a testament to the high quality of LED lights.
Installation is still in progress at the warehouse, but the difference in brightness is already extensive. This product installation is a prime example of the superiority of LED lighting over fluorescents.
Lighting this warehouse will cost the customer about a quarter of what it used to in electricity costs. Added to that will be climate control savings, thanks to the lower operating temperature of the new lighting, and maintenance savings—unlike fluorescent lamps, the new LED high bays won't burn out on a yearly basis.
