RAB PIRW12/LCB PIR Ceiling Sensor (Lightcloud Blue)
RAB PIRW12/LCB PIR Ceiling Sensor (Lightcloud Blue)
The RAB PIRW12/LCB brings occupancy sensing and daylight harvesting to your lighting, wirelessly. Use it directly with Lightcloud Blue-enabled fixtures, or pair it with a Lightcloud Blue controller to add the same smart control to any 0-10V dimmable fixture, RAB or not.
- Occupancy sensing: Brings lights to full brightness the instant someone enters, then dims or shuts off automatically once the space is empty.
- Daylight harvesting: Continuously holds a room at steady brightness, using only the energy the space actually needs.
- Full 360° coverage: Ceiling-mounted for ceilings up to 12 ft, with a wide 45 ft detection diameter around the sensor.

Bluetooth-Powered Occupancy Sensing for Standard Ceilings
The RAB PIRW12/LCB is a Lightcloud Blue-compatible occupancy sensor with daylight harvesting. It works directly with any Lightcloud Blue-enabled fixture, wires directly to a single non-RAB fixture to switch and dim it on its own, or pairs with a Lightcloud Blue line-voltage controller for wireless control across a wider area, bringing occupancy sensing and daylight harvesting to fixtures that previously lacked smart controls. Built for ceilings up to 12 ft, it mounts to the ceiling for full coverage of the space below it.
- Lights On the Instant Someone Enters: Occupancy sensing brings the space to full brightness the moment someone walks in, improving safety and visibility, then dims or shuts the lights off automatically once the space empties out, with a timeout adjustable from 1 to 240 minutes to match how the space is actually used.
- Consistent Brightness + Energy Savings: Daylight harvesting continuously fine-tunes output to hold a room at a set lux threshold, so lights never run brighter, or use more energy, than the space actually needs at that moment, with no manual adjustment required.
- Wide Coverage at Standard Mounting Heights: At a 12 ft mounting height, this sensor covers a 45 ft detection diameter, wide coverage for the height class, suited to offices, hallways, restrooms, and other standard-height commercial spaces.
- Optional Mounting Arm for Tricky Layouts: Where ductwork, decorative ceiling elements, or other low-clearance features would block a flush-mounted sensor's sightline, the optional ARM/LCB bracket (sold separately) lets you angle or offset the sensor to restore a clear view of the space.
- Direct Load Switching or Wireless-Only Control: Wire this sensor directly to a 0-10V dimmable fixture for Bluetooth-controlled switching and dimming or leave the load terminals unconnected communicate wirelessly with Lightcloud Blue-enabled fixtures or line-voltage controllers within range.
- Rated for Indoor and Outdoor Use: IP66 sealing handles dry, damp, or wet environments, so this sensor isn't limited to conditioned indoor spaces alone.
- Adjustable From Your Phone: All sensor settings — sensitivity, timeout, dim levels, and daylight threshold — are configured through the Lightcloud Blue app rather than a physical dial on the sensor itself.
- Part of a DLC-Qualified System for Utility Rebates: While this sensor is not individually DLC listed, it's part of DLC Network Lighting Controls system N1XMLOEATBA, making the overall Lightcloud Blue system eligible for rebates from participating utilities.
- 5-Year Warranty: Full manufacturer coverage — purchased through ELEDLights as an authorized RAB dealer.
Bring Smart Control to Your Offices, Hallways, and Standard-Height Spaces
This sensor's real power shows up when it's controlling fixtures that never had any smart features to begin with. Wire it directly to a 0-10V dimmable fixture or pair with a Lightcloud Blue line-voltage controller to unlock occupancy sensing and daylight harvesting on older fixtures without replacing a single light.
- Retrofit Existing Fixtures Without New Fixtures: If your office, hallway, or facility already runs 0-10V dimmable fixtures at standard ceiling heights, this sensor, wired directly or paired with a Lightcloud Blue controller, can add motion-based control and daylight harvesting on top of what's already installed, no fixture replacement required.
- Real Energy Savings in Spaces That Aren't Always Full: Hallways, restrooms, and private offices are rarely occupied every minute of the day. Automatically dimming or shutting off lights when a space empties out, then bringing them back the instant someone enters, adds up to real savings over time.
- One System Across RAB and Non-RAB Fixtures Alike: Because the sensor communicates over the same Bluetooth Mesh network, a building can mix RAB fixtures with retrofitted non-RAB fixtures and control them all from the same app.

Frequently Asked Questions
How does it install?
The sensor mounts to the ceiling or a junction box at heights up to 12 ft. Where ductwork, decorative ceiling elements, or other low-clearance features would block the sensor's sightline if mounted flush, the optional ARM/LCB bracket lets you angle or offset the sensor instead.
Why not just use a simple plug-in occupancy or daylight sensor?
A basic plug-in sensor works fine for a single fixture, but it has to be manually adjusted at the sensor itself every time sensitivity, timeout, or dim levels need to change. This sensor is adjusted entirely from your phone, and it can control an entire area's worth of fixtures wirelessly, not just the one it's wired to.
How does it connect to my lights?
Three ways, depending on the installation. Wire it directly to a fixture's line-voltage circuit and its own relay can switch that load, up to 5A LED at 120V or 3A LED at 277V, with a separate 0-10V DC circuit handling dimming. For wireless communication, leave those terminals unconnected and it communicates over Bluetooth Mesh to control Lightcloud Blue-enabled fixtures or line-voltage controllers within range.
Does this require a dim-to-off driver?
No. PIRW12/LCB works with any 0-10V dimmable fixture. A dim-to-off driver isn't required, though it does allow a smoother, continuous fade all the way to true darkness rather than stopping at the driver's minimum dim level.
Do I need a Lightcloud Blue controller to use this sensor?
Not necessarily. Wired directly to a 0-10V dimmable fixture within its load rating, PIRW12/LCB can switch and dim that fixture on its own, no controller required. A controller becomes useful when you want wireless placement instead of direct wiring, need to control more load than the sensor's own relay supports, or want one sensor to control multiple Lightcloud Blue fixtures or line voltage controllers across a wider area.
Is this sensor DLC listed or rebate-eligible?
Not individually, but it's part of DLC Network Lighting Controls system N1XMLOEATBA, so the overall Lightcloud Blue system it's operating in remains eligible for utility rebates. Check with your utility provider or our rebate assistance team to confirm what's available for your project.
Can it turn lights off completely, or does it keep them dimmed?
Both options are available. When the space is vacant, you can set the sensor to turn lights fully off or to hold at a low dim level, whichever fits the application.
Do I have to convert my whole facility at once?
No. You can start with a single room or zone, install a sensor and controller there, and see the results before expanding further. Every device joins the same Bluetooth Mesh network, so adding more sensors and controllers later doesn't require any new infrastructure, just more devices on the same system.
