When properly installed at seven feet or higher, this ultraviolet germicidal irradiation (UVGI) system does not expose occupants to UVC rays. It works by projecting UVC across the upper room air, well above occupants' heads, where it inactivates airborne pathogens as they are lifted into the UV field by convection currents.
Not only does Upper Room Germicidal UV Disinfection system keep its immediate location safer, it also minimizes the potential infiltration of airborne infectious agents into the building's central heating and air conditioning system.
Upper room (germicidal ultra violet) irradiation is a 100-year-old technology, improved for the modern age. Install in your school, restaurant, store, business, or healthcare facility to reduce infectious disease transmission through the air.
General coverage area for each unit is 20' x 20'. We recommend one fixture installed for every 400 sq ft. If you're unsure how many you need or where they should be placed, contact us—we can help.
Safety note: Under normal operation, this Upper Room Germicidal UV Disinfection unit does not expose skin or eyes to direct UVC radiation; however it is important to know that direct UVC radiation can cause skin burns and eye injuries that may appear hours after exposure has occurred. Avoid direct skin exposure to UVC radiation and never look directly into a UVC light source, even briefly. Therefore, do not tamper with the normal operation of this upper room unit, and take precautions to protect skin and eyes when performing maintenance.
