Our President Henry Mann recently traveled to Daytona as a guest of Acura to watch the race- IMSA Rolex 24 at Daytona International Speedway.

The Rolex 24 at Daytona is a 24-hour sports car endurance race that runs on a 3.5-mile combined course. Each team is comprised of three drivers and no driver can be in a car for more than four hours during a six-hour time frame. However, each driver must drive for at least four hours and 30 minutes throughout the 24-hour period.

The IMSA Championship features two styles of cars, Prototype and GT. Three classes of racing lead to individual battles, at the same times between Pro and Pro-Am driver combinations.

* PROTOTYPE (PRO)- Purpose Built Race Cars- Fastest and most technologically advanced cars in North America. While unique in appearance, they are also one of the highest level categories of sports car racing.

While Henry was there, he ran into Juan Pablo Montoya. Juan currently competes in the WeatherTech SportsCar Championship driving for Acura.

Juan has won the Championship title, Indianapolis 500, 24 Hours of Daytona (Rolex 24) , Grand Prix of Long Beach, Italian Grand Prix, and the cross over Race of Champions. Montoya has also become a crossover race winner by winning races in Formula One, CART, IRL, IndyCar, Grand-Am and NASCAR.

Henry was quite excited to meet Juan, get a photo, and discuss the Acura Super Car.
